William Farnham "Bill" Penrose, 90, of Ironwood, Mich., died Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth.      He was born May 6, 1924, in Ironwood, son of the late Norman and Winifred (Trethewey) Penrose.      He was married to his wife of 68 years, the former Gertrude Nelmark, on March 2, 1946. She survives.      Also surviving are two children, Greta (Michael) Erm, Eagle Harbor, Mich. and Bill (Mary) Penrose, Ironwood; grandchildren, Daniel (Lori) Penrose, Hurley, Luke (Janelle) Penrose, Iron Belt, Wis., and Chelsea (Patrick) Marshall, Germany; great-grandchildren, Logan Penrose, and David, Gavin, Grant and Savannah Marshall; and step great-grandchildren, Kayla Peters, and Alisa, Britney and Mattie BeBeau.      Per Bill's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held.      Private interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Ironwood.      Arrangements were with McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Ironwood, where condolences may be expressed online at mckevittpatrickfuneralhome.com.
