Obituary

William (Bill) James Marvin, 63, closed the book on his time with us at home in Ironwood, Michigan on Friday, November 18, 2016. Bill was born on April 29, 1953 in Superior, Wisconsin to Edward and Mildred Marvin. Bill graduated high school in Superior, class of 1971 and attended college at WITI for electronics. On June 30, 1984 Bill married the love of his life, Becky (VanDerSchaegen) in Montreal, Wisconsin. In 1984, Bill, Becky, and her 16-year old daughter, Andie, moved to Waseca, Minnesota for a job opportunity in electronics with E.F. Johnson. After E.F. Johnson sold their company Bill worked for Itron of Waseca and Burnsville until he retired and relocated to Ironwood, Michigan. Bill loved spending time with his grandchildren and cats. He also loved Coca-Cola, animals, pizza, pickles, burgers and the Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed many hobbies including collecting old coins and stamps, metal detecting, astronomy, playing guitar, politics and fixing HAM radios. Bill is survived by his wife, Becky; step-daughter, Andie (Tim) Blowers of Amboy, Minnesota; grandchildren, James Dempski of Waseca, Minnesota, Nikohl (Shawn) Bajula of Waseca, Minnesota and Nathan Blowers of Blue Earth, Minnesota; sisters Carole (Gary) Smith of Kelseyville, California and Delores (Rob) Zaro of Vacaville, California and one brother, Ed (Laurel) Marvin of Superior, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, George. A celebration of life is to be held at a later date with more information to follow. His humor and kind heart will be deeply missed by many.
