Obituary

William P. "Bill" Kimball, 71, of 4580 Lake of the Falls Rd., Mercer, died Friday, March 23, 2007, in Woodruff. He was born March 17, 1936, in Ironwood, Mi., son of the late Benjamin and Gladys (Kennedy) Kimball, and attended Ironwood schools. He worked on ore boats on the Great Lakes for several years, before moving to New Berlin, Wis., where he owned and operated Kimball Construction Co. for over 30 years, retiring in 1994 and moving to Mercer. Bill enjoyed hunting, and was a member of Carpenters District Council of Milwaukee. On Oct. 29, 1959, he married the former Priscilla J. Bertoluzza of Hurley at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hurley. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Louis (Cari), Dousman, and Henry (Kelly), New Berlin; three grandchildren, Theresa, Angela, and Christina Kimball, all of Dousman, and two step-grandchildren, Amber and Cody Kaiser, New Berlin; two brothers, Ben, Hurley, and Gerald, Ironwood; and two sisters, Joyce Pachmayer, Ironwood, and Norma Leinon, Hurley. Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a son, Kris, in 1991; three brothers, Robert, Henry and Myron; and three sisters, Kathleen Deuel, Dolores Savant, and Lucille Hendrickson. At the family's request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 31, at 11 a.m., at the McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home, 305 N. Lowell St., in Ironwood, with the Rev. Michael Hayden, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hurley, officiating. Luncheon will follow at the Iron Nugget in downtown Hurley. Spring inurnment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hurley. Relatives and friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Arrangements are with McKevitt-Patrick and Engstrom Funeral and Cremation Services of Ironwood and Hurley.
