Obituary

Wendy M. Freese, 50, of 927 Nightingale St., Ironwood, Mich., died Sunday, June 6, 2010, surrounded by her loving family, at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff, following a lengthy illness.      The former Wendy M. Jones was born June 30, 1959, in Chicago, daughter of the late Keith and Ida (Marsh) Jones, attended grade school in Chicago, and graduated from Northland Pines High School in Eagle River in 1977. She then attended St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing in Marshfield, receiving her degree as a registered nurse in 1983, and was employed at Grand View Hospital in Ironwood from 1983 to her retirement due to ill health as midnight nursing supervisor in June, 2008.      Wendy enjoyed scrapbooking and playing poker, and loved flower gardening and her home.      On Oct. 7, 1989, she was married to Ron "Frosty" Freese at Zion Lutheran Church in Ironwood by the late Rev. Michael Hellier. Ron survives.      Also surviving are a stepson, Richard (Alysia) Freese, and stepdaughter, Nicole Freese (Scott Carlson), both of Ironwood; 4 step-grandsons, Trevor, Anders and Markus Freese, and Ian Carlson, all of Ironwood; a brother, Bill (Mary Ellen) Jones, Rancho Cordova, Calif.; sister-in-law, Wanda Lou Ollanketo (Bob Goudge), Hancock, Mich.; numerous nieces and nephews; and her cat from Hell, Pauly, whom she  loved dearly.        Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Myrtle Freese, in May, 2008.      Visitation will be held Thursday, June 10, from 10 to the 11 a.m. funeral services, at the McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home, 305 N. Lowell St., in Ironwood. The Rev.
