Theresa E. Zandi, 87, of
Ironwood, died Sunday, May 20, 2012, in Hurley. The former Theresa Pavlovich was born May 14,
1925, in Ironwood, daughter of the late John and Julia (Gburek) Pavlovich,
attended Newport and Puritan School, and graduated from L.L. Wright High School
in 1943. She worked at the Curry Hotel and Peerless Laundry in
Ironwood. Theresa was a member of Our Lady of Peace
Catholic Church in Ironwood and the former Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She
enjoyed cooking and baking, working puzzles, and country western
music. On July 28, 1945, she was married to Alfred J.
"Fritz" Zandi of Pence at Holy Trinity Catholic Church by the late Rev. Andrew
Schulek. Alfred preceded her in death on July 20, 2003. Surviving are a son, Dennis (Dianne Bravatto),
Ironwood; two daughters, Diane Cramer, Anaheim, Calif., and Darcy Zandi ( fiance
Dennis Lipske), Ironwood; two grandchildren, Melissa (Don) Barstow, Tracy,
Calif., and Mark Zandi, Chesapeake, Va.; a sister-in-law, Marguerite Pavlovich,
Poplar; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Theresa was
preceded in death by a son-in-law, Mike Cramer; three brothers, Frank, Raymond
and Joseph Pavlovich; two stepbrothers, Emil and John Pavlovich; and five
stepsisters, Mary Borich, Cathryn Lyngen, Helen Koski, Emily Korpi and Rose
Gredzniak. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated
Friday, May 25, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation in the St. Joseph Family Room
at 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ironwood, with the Rev.
Darryl J. Pepin, celebrant. Rite of Committal will take place in the St.
Joseph Family Room at the church, with luncheon to follow in the parish
hall. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery,
