Terri Lynn Stone,
55, of Hurley, died Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center in
Ashland, from injuries sustained in a one car rollover accident Friday evening
on U.S. 2 in Odanah. The former Terri Lynn Snarski
was born Oct. 3, 1956, in Ironwood, Mich., daughter of the late Raymond and
Marge (Kaseno) Snarski, attended Hurley schools, and graduated from J.E. Murphy
High School in 1974. She was employed as a waitress in Minocqua, in housekeeping
at Big Powderhorn Mountain, and as a certified nurse's aide for eight
years prior to attending the Gogebic Community College Nursing Program and
becoming a licensed practical nurse. She then was employed at Mellen Manor
Nursing Home, Villa Maria Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hurley and
Josephson Nursing Home in Ironwood. Terri devoted her life to being
a caregiver to family and friends in every way possible. She lived to help the
people she loved and cared for and the elders in nursing homes. To her, that's
what gave her life meaning. She was always a very happy-go-lucky person with a
beautiful personality who could make you smile on your worst day. She always had
a smile on her face. She enjoyed camping and the outdoors, and especially
enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are her husband,
Herman, of Ironwood; a son, Kurt, and daughter, Amanda Traczyk, both of Hurley;
stepsons, Nathan (Barbie) Stone, Ironwood, and Joseph Stone, Elgin, Ill.; eight
grandchildren, Andrew, Jacob, Jazmyne, Alexis, Hannah, Nathan "Little Na", Brea
and Hunter; four brothers, Gary and Ray Snarski, both of Florida, Robert "Ponch"
Snarski, Minnesota, and Michael (Nikki) Snarski, Madison; a sister, Diane Dilts
(Joel), Minnesota.; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law,
Robert (Jean) Stone and Raymond (Kathy) Stone, both of Colorado Springs, Colo.;
and sisters-in-law, Kathy (Gary) Erickson and Roberta (Stacy) Thiede, both of
Ironwood. Funeral services will be held
Saturday, March 31, at 1 p.m., preceded by visitation at noon, at the
McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home, 305 N. Lowell St., in Ironwood, with the Rev.
Darryl J. Pepin, pastor of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ironwood,
officiating. Rite of Committal will take
place at the funeral home, with a reception to follow at Larry's Good Time
Saloon in downtown Hurley, the food being donated by the LIberty Bell Chalet. Terri's wishes were then to be
cremated and her cremains buried privately in the Hurley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Online condolences may be given
