Sheryl Sue Nieminen, 74, of Wakefield, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025, peacefully at the Lakeshore group home in Wakefield.

Sheryl was born on August 18, 1950, in Ironwood, the daughter of Eugene and Cynthia (Lehto) Nieminen. Sherly has a laugh that will never be forgotten.

She was preceded in death by her parents and nephew, Bill Barbacovi, Jr. Sheryl is survived by her brother, Eugene (Joan); sister, Mayrene (Bill) Barbacovi; and niece, Kristy (Clarence) Dalbeck.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the staff of Gogebic Mental Health and the care given to Sheryl over the years at the Lakeshore group home. Also thank you to Regional Hospice for your service.

A private memorial and burial will be held in the spring at Sunset Acres Cemetery in Ironwood Township.
