Sheri Lynn Loeper, 51, of 307 Maple St., Hurley, died Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, in her home. The former Sheri Sodervick was born Sept. 9, 1957, in Milwaukee, daughter of Robert and Shirley (Erickson) Sodervick. She attended Ironwood, Mich. schools and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 1975. She was employed for many years as sales manager of the sporting goods department at Giovanoni's True Value Hardware in Hurley. A department technician in archery, she was one of the original organizers of the Saxon Archery Club. She loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and gardening. Sheri was married to Jim Loeper of Bessemer for 15 years. He survives. Also surviving are her father, Robert Sodervick, of Hurley; her mother, Shirley Sodervick, Lansing, Mich.; two brothers, Joel (Sue) Sodervick, Bellevue, Neb. and William (Marie) Sodervick, Lansing; a niece and nephew and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Sodervick, on Feb. 15, 1997. Out of respect for Sheri's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 21, at 10 a.m., at the McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home, 305 N. Lowell St., in Ironwood, with the Rev. Christian Muellerleile officiating.
