Sarina Rae Kent, 67, of Hurley, spread her wings and danced her way into the heavens on Thursday, May 7, 2026, in Ironwood, following a recent series of health battles.

Born on March 29, 1959, to Edward Valentine and Myrna Marie (Rappley) Kaul. She graduated from Hastings High School in Nebraska and later earned her associate degree before beginning her career as a nurse at Hastings Regional Hospital. Caring for others came naturally to Sarina-whether through her work, her advice, or simply sitting beside someone who needed a friend.

Sarina lived boldly, loved fiercely, and never met someone who was a stranger for long. She had a free spirit and an unforgettable laugh that could fill a room in seconds. She had a deep love for family and a knack for making ordinary days memorable. She had a soft spot for animals but her two dogs, Roxie and Willie Nelson, held a special place in her heart.

Sarina is survived by her two sons, Jacob Baker and Trenton Kent; daughter- in-laws Ajuna Baker and Ashley Kent; brother, Valentine Kaul; ex-husband, Jeffrey Baker; three grandchildren, Elysia, Lincoln, and Serenity; and her great-grandchild, Claire. Sarina is also survived by her best friend, Blanche, and her Uncle Kevin. She is further survived by other relatives and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her second husband, Virgil Kent; granddaughter, Leah; and her stepfather, Gene Jaster.

A celebration of Sarina's life will take place at a later date.
