Obituary

Ruby A. Chatterson, 62, of Pioneer Park Apartments, Ironwood, died peacefully Monday evening, Jan. 11, 2016, at Westgate Nursing, Rehabilitation and Assisted Living Community in Ironwood, surrounded by her loving family, following a lengthy, courageou s battle with cancer.      The former Ruby Wiikus was born Aug. 11, 1953, in Bessemer Township, daughter of the late Levi and Ethel (White) Wiikus, and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in Ironwood in 1971. Over the years, she was employed in housekeeping at Grand View Hospital, worked at Fox Point in Ironwood, and waitressed at Petrusha's Supper Club in Hurley, Wis.      She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Ironwood, and loved to read, knit and crochet. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-niece, Ellie.     Surviving are four children, Dan Chatterson, Ironwood, Kim(Matt) Foryan, Montreal, Wis., Jim Chatterson, Ironwood, and Corey Chatterson, Menomonie, Wis.; six grandchildren, Kailey, Landon, Ashlee, Caitlyn, Brianna and Eithan; her sister, June (Bob) Olkonen, Gile, Wis.; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and many dear friends.      Besides her parents, Ruby was predeceased by twin sons, Jason and Casey, in infancy; and brothers, Patrick and Michael Wiikus, in infancy.      Out of respect for her wishes, cremation has taken place.     Memorial services will be held Friday, Jan. 15, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, E5104 E. Margaret St., in Ironwood, with Pastor Kurt Brandon officiating.      Luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall.      Private committal and interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Ironwood, in the spring      Arrangements have been entrusted to McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Ironwood.
