Ronald H. "Pudo" Jackson,
80, of Springstead, formerly of Ironwood, Mich., died unexpectedly Monday, Nov.
19, 2012, at home, surrounded by his family. He was born Dec. 15, 1931, in Bessemer
Township, Mich., son of the late Carl and Lillian (Trethewey) Jackson, attended
Ironwood schools, and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 1950. He
was employed as a driver for Coca-Cola in Ironwood and also delivered homes for
Schult Mobile Homes. For most of his working life, he owned his own semi and
hauled for various trucking companies, retiring from Smeester Trucking Co. in
1993. He also worked for the Town of Sherman as a plow driver and heavy
equipment operator for 13 years. Ron enjoyed traveling, his two cats, Sadie and
Gladys, and spending time with his family. On May 4, 1968, he married the former Sharon
M. Scheibe in Crystal Falls, Mich. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Timothy
(Melissa), of Stanley, and Ronald, Springstead; six grandchildren; a
brother-in-law, Chuck (Julie) Scheibe, Cummings, Ga.; and a nephew, David (Lynn)
Jackson, Ironwood. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death
by a brother, Richard "Red"; and sister, Helen Hansen. Per Ron's wishes, cremation has taken place
