Roland "Jim" Anderson, 81, of Kivi Tia Rd., Kimball, died peacefully Monday, June 11, 2012, in his home, surrounded by his loving family, following a brief illness.      He was born Aug. 18, 1930, in Ironwood, Mich., son of the late Wayne and Mary (Raymond) Anderson, and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 1949. He then entered the U.S. Navy and served two tours of duty aboard the USS Missouri and USS Lake Champlain during the Korean Conflict, and was honorably discharged in 1953.      Following his discharge, Jim came to Kimball and worked in the Newport Mine in Ironwood until the mine closed. He was also an avid Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers fan. He especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting activities. A quiet, soft-spoken, and kind-hearted man, he will be deeply missed.      On Oct. 6, 1951, Jim was united in marriage to Helmi Kivi at Zion Lutheran Church in Ironwood.
