Robert C. Brace, 74, of
Ironwood Township, died Saturday, July 7, 2012, at Gogebic Medical Care Facility
in Wakefield. He was born Jan. 27, 1938, on the family farm
in Ironwood Township, son of the late Irving and Libbie (Talo) Brace, attended
Roosevelt School, and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 1956. He
then farmed the family farm and worked for the Gogebic County Road Commission
for 30 years, retiring in 1997. Robert was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church
in Ironwood and former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church at Little Girl's
Point. He also belonged to AARP. He enjoyed woodworking, working on heavy equipment,
and traveling in his motorhome. On Oct. 12, 2002, he was married to the former
Dawn Nimrick Osier at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ironwood by the Rev. Todd
Frusti. Dawn survives. Also surviving are two sons, Mickey Osier,
Ironwood Township, and Tony Osier (Nikki Allerman), Oshkosh, Wis.; two
daughters, Christine Osier-May, Ft. Worth, Texas, and Trish Osier (Guy Tilton),
Hurley, Wis.; two grandchildren, Logan Mata and Kaden Tilton; and a sister,
Dolores Bennett, Fond du Lac, Wis. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death
by a brother, Richard, in 1997. Out of respect for Robert's wishes, cremation
has taken place. Memorial services will be held Monday, July
16, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church,
5104 E. Margaret St., in Ironwood, with the Rev. Wesley "Bo" Baumeister
officiating. Private committal and interment will take
place in Sunset Acres Cemetery, Ironwood Township. Robert's obituary may be viewed online and
