Richard Ivar Nevala, 83, of Ironwood, passed away on March 4, 2019, at Aspirus Ironwood Hospital in Ironwood,       He was born on July 23, 1935, to Ivar and Senia Kivi Nevala in Ironwood.      Richard was a construction draftsman as well as a decorated sharpshooter while he was in the U.S. Army. He later became a Mechanical Engineer.      A special thank you to the staff of Aspirus Ironwood Hospital for the care Richard received during his final days. Also a special thank you to the staff of Westgate Nursing home in Ironwood for the excellent care Richard received for the 10 years he resided there.      A graveside service will be conducted for Richard Ivar Nevala at Riverside Cemetery, Ironwood in the spring, where he will be interred in the Veteran's section.      Ketola-Burla Funeral Home, Ironwood, is assisting the family.      For more information or to express online condolences, please visit mckevittpatrickfuneralhome.com
