Phillip M. Graser Sr., 67, of Mercer, passed away Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010, at
home, with his family by his side. Phill was a fishing guide for 31 years and
maker of "Boonie Bait Lures." In 1989, he caught a world record line class
Northern Pike on his own lure and was inducted into the Fishing Hall of Fame. He
was thrilled to see his Chicago Bears beat the Vikings and Packers. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Carol
(Thompson), of Mercer; children, Michael (Lanaye), Richard (Jennifer), Phillip
Jr. (Jacey), Diana (Bert) Garcia, Erica Graser (Jack), and Desiree Graser; ten
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brothers, Norris (Shelley), Jody
(Val), and Jeff; sisters, Diane (Mike) Vecchione and Sandy Royer; a special
aunt, Aud Graser; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Phill was preceded in death by his parents,
Gilbert and Diana (Norris), and a brother, Scott. Out of respect for his wishes, cremation has
taken place. A memorial gathering in celebration of Phill's
life will be held Saturday, June 5, at 1 p.m., at the Mercer Tourist Park
