Paul J. Pinzuti, 83, of Hazelhurst, WI, a longtime resident of New Berlin, WI, passed away on September 5th 2025.

He was born August 11, 1942, in Ironwood, MI, to the late Dominique and Rose (Giacomoni) Pinzuti of Pence, WI. Paul was a 1960 graduate of JE Murphy High School, Hurley, WI. He met his wife, Marsha A Stanczak, in high school. They became high school sweethearts and were married August 19, 1961, at St. Mary's Church, Hurley, WI. They were married 64 years. In 1962, Paul, along with his wife Marsha, moved to Milwaukee. He worked as an ironworker there for many years. In the early 1970’s Paul purchased his first business as a roofing and siding contractor. He and his wife built their company, New Berlin Aluminum, from a small window and screen company. As the years went by, they turned their small business into a booming general contracting company offering all home repairs and building pole buildings. They ran their business for 47 years until their retirement.

In their first years after moving to Milwaukee, they purchased their first home and settled in New Berlin, WI. It’s here they began their life and family together. They had four Children. Cathy, Bart, Todd, and Michele. While living in New Berlin, Paul was very involved with the community. In the 60s and 70s, he served on the New Berlin Fire Dept. as a firefighter and on the rescue squad. Paul was an avid supporter of other things in the community such as The Soap Box Derby and local youth softball teams.

Paul was a very avid outdoorsman. Over the years, he had a passion for being outdoors hunting and snowmobiling. He was very involved in The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, where he became a lifetime member. It was while serving on this committee that he was at the forefront of the first release of Elk into WI wilderness. Something he was very proud to be a part of and loved to share his story about it to anyone! The stories of his game hunting over the years are something he never tired of sharing. His favorite of all was the time he was lost in the Montana wilderness on a guided hunting trip for 3 nights with no food and being stalked by a mountain lion. Meanwhile, his family back home had no idea. He loved to tell this story in great detail.

Paul was born to immigrant parents from Corsica. Paul was extremely proud of his heritage. His stories of visiting Corsica as a child and the story of his parents' trip across the ocean to begin a new life was something he loved to share. Paul attended St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Pence, where he served as an altar boy for many years. Paul is survived by his wife, Marsha; four children, daughter Cathy (David) Sayles, son Bart, son Todd (Wayne Graetz), and daughter Michele (Tim) Pronley; his sister Micheline Oleszczuk of Sun Lakes, AZ. Six Grandchildren. Nolan (Katy) Sayles, Jake Sayles, Emma (Ben) Plahmer, Hayden Pronley, Braxton Pronley, and Tatum Pronley; four great-grandchildren, Mason Sayles, Deagan Sayles, Swayzie Sayles, and Boone Plahmer; and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gary and Theresa Giancola of Hurley, WI.

Paul was an outgoing, very larger-than-life personality. His love of family & friends he held very dear. He will be dearly missed for his jokester personality, fun stories, and how he made friends everywhere he went. He prided himself on never forgetting a face or a name of past acquaintances. To Paul, everyone was a friend.

A Memorial and celebration of life for Paul will take place on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 10 a.m. to the time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. at the McKevitt Patrick Funeral Home in Ironwood.
