Patricia A. "Tish" Leinon, 83,
of Second Ave. North, Hurley, died peacefully Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, at home,
surrounded by her loving family. The former Patricia Trier was born April 9,
1930, in Ironwood, Mich., daughter of the late Celestin "Lefty" and Margaret
"Peg" (Ryan) Trier, and was raised in Hurley, where she attended St. Mary's
Catholic Grade School and graduated from J.E. Murphy High School in
1948. She married Henry "Hienie" Leinon on July 18,
1953, at the St. Mary's rectory in Hurley. Tish dedicated herself to raising her
large family and helping Hienie run his carpet business, Leinon's Carpet, out of
their home. A devout Catholic, she was a member of St. Mary's Church where she
was currently active in the prayer chain for the ill in the community and was
formerly active in the St. Mary's Home and School Association. She also
volunteered at the local polls for many years and was an active volunteer for
the American Cancer Society. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law and aunt, Tish was dearly loved and
will be missed by all. Surviving are her beloved husband, Hienie, of
60 years; seven children, Lee (Susie) Leinon, Gile, Julie (John) Cares,
Columbus, Perry (Mary Kay) Leinon, Phillips, Sheri (Jerry) Moon, Montreal,
Marianne (Manny) Oradei, Rhinelander, Tammy (Herb) Levin, Nokomis, Fla., and
Ross (Elaine) Leinon, Montreal; 16 grandchildren, Wes Leinon (Erin), Robin
Leinon (Jeremy), Bryant (Gina) Mosconi, Leanne, Sheri and Sam Cares, Brandon
(Jessica) Leinon, Crystal (Troy) Salisbury, Rachel Leinon (Wayne), Valorie
Leinon, Aaron, Henry and Natalie Moon, Emily and Joseph Oradei and Ayden Leinon;
seven great-grandchildren, Ryker, Piper, Layla, Madeline, Avery, Easton and
Jack; four sisters, Mary Lou Semo, Ironwood, Jean (Tom) Pavlovich, Flint, Mich.,
Katherine "Susie" Caruso, Milwaukee, and Molly Backlund, Newark, Ohio;
a brother-in-law, Bill (Joyce) Leinon, Montreal; sisters-in-law, Marlene (Paul)
Masuga and Norma Leinon, both of Hurley, Jan Trier, Ironwood, Florence Trier,
Wausau, and Peg Trier, Indianapolis; and numerous nieces and
nephews. Besides her parents, Tish was preceded in
death by a son, Paul David Leinon, in 1965; six brothers, Francis "Red", James,
Timothy, Celestin "Joe", Michael and John "Jack" Trier; and a sister, Ellen
"Torchy" Ramuta. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated
Friday, Aug. 9, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at St. Mary's
Catholic Church in Hurley, with the Rev. Frank Kordek OFM,
celebrant. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in
St. Mary's Cemetery, Hurley. Lunch will be served in the parish hall
immediately upon return from the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lee, Perry and Ross
