Olga H. Ringwall, 93, of
Ironwood, died Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, in Ironwood. She was born Oct. 4, 1918, in Ironwood, the
youngest child of Ivar J. and Mary (Tuoppala) Heikkila. She attended McKinley
and Roosevelt schools, and graduated from Ironwood High School in 1936. She
continued on and graduated from Ironwood Junior College in 1938. Olga was married on April 18, 1942 to Birger
Ringwall. He preceded her in death on Aug. 6, 2001. Olga was employed as a bookkeeper, first at
Gogebic National Bank and then at Morrison Audit Company, which later became
Ernst and Ernst. In later years she worked from home doing book work for private
clients such as Gertz Furniture and Rovelsky and Company. Olga was a caring mother and grandmother,
especially known for her cardamom bread and home made raspberry jelly. She was
also an avid crossword puzzle fan. In addition to her parents and husband, Olga
was preceded in death by three brothers, Arne, Nilo and Arvo; a sister, Saimi;
and a son-in-law, Miles Holmes. She is survived by a son, David (Angela), San
Antonio; daughters, Donna Holmes, Bessemer, and Susan Ringwall (Jim
Pieterick), Rochester, Minn.; grandchildren, Christopher Holmes, Clinton
Township, Alison (Curtis) Fisher, Salem, Ore., Nicholas Ringwall, Charleston,
SC, and Nathan Ringwall, Beaumont, Texas.; great-grandchildren, Myles and Maisy
Fisher; and one niece and two nephews. Olga was a lifelong member of St. Paul
Lutheran Church in Ironwood. Out of respect for her wishes, cremation has
taken place. Memorial services will be held Saturday, March
17, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at St. Paul Lutheran Church,
111 So. Curry St., in Ironwood, with Pastor Peggy Rose officiating. Committal will take place at the church, with
luncheon to follow in the church fellowship hall. Spring burial will be in Riverside Cemetery,
Ironwood. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may
be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church. Condolences can be given to Olga's
