Nancy Jane
Sertic
July 10, 1935 – October 6, 2024
Nancy Jane Sertic, 89, of Ironwood Township, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at the Villa Maria Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Hurley.
Nancy was born the baby of 8 siblings on July 10, 1935, to Oscar and Ida (Berg) Holst in Ironwood, Michigan. She attended Norrie Elementary School and was a 1953 graduate of Luther L. Wright High School in Ironwood. On August 24, 1955, she was united in marriage to Robert "Cheetah" Sertic at Holy Trinity Church in Ironwood.
Nancy was a very loving and caring person who did anything she could for family and friends, especially a last-minute sewing or haircut. She went to all her kids and grandkids' sporting events, cheering them on. Nancy always remembered everyone's birthdays and anniversaries; she was always there if you needed her.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 69 years, Bob; children, Michael (Bitte) Sertic of Tennessee and Sue (Barry) Pertile of Ironwood; grandchildren, Dan (Tiff Maki) Sertic, Ben Sertic, Alex Sertic, Max (Megan) Pertile, and Brittany (Eric) Schneller; great-grandchildren, Luke, Janie, Hallie, and Kaija Pertile, and Elle, Mason, and Bristol Schneller, and George Sertic; sister, Marilyn Partyka; and her sister-in-law; Nancy Sertic. Nancy is further survived by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; in-laws, Peter and Mary Sertic; siblings, Dean Holst, William Holst, Doris Hild, Evie Hovey, Shirley Martini, and Eileen Sanders; sisters and brothers-in-law, Renee Holst, Jean Holst, Gilbert Hild, Sid Hovey, Robert Martini, Donald Sanders, George Sertic, Jim Sertic, and Jeanette Thelen.
Private family services were held for Nancy. The family would like to express their greatest appreciation to Aspirus Hospice and the Villa Maria Health & Rehabilitation Center for their care. And to the nieces and nephews who came to help care for Nancy.
