Miriam L. Sell, 86, of Hurley, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2022 at the Aspirus Ironwood Hospital.

She was born on December 15, 1935 to Gilbert and Audrey (Callen) Woodcock in Albia, Iowa. She was united in marriage with Ronald Sell on September 22, 1956 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Ironwood. Miriam graduated Gogebic Community College and worked as a licensed practical nurse at the Grandview Hospital in the clinic with Doctors Gardner and Ryan, the ER, on the floor and in surgery until she worked as a dental assistant for Burchell Dentistry until her retirement.

Miriam was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Ironwood, and helped the youth groups when her children were growing up. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed doing arts and crafts; making clay pottery and stained glass. Miriam loved to cook, entertain and host parties. She volunteered her time as a working lifetime member of the Friends of the Ironwood Carnegie Library, the SISU Ski Fest, PAAVO Nurmi Marathon and Red Cross Blood Drives. Miriam loved to travel, visiting at least 40 of the US states, taking many cruises and a trip to Europe and Hong Kong. Most of all she loved her family and her dogs.

Miriam is survived by her husband; Ron Sell, son; David (Cheryl) Sell of Minocqua, WI, daughter; Jody (Patrick) Dodge of Puerto Morelos, Mexico, two sisters; Carol (Patrick) Casey of Jordan, MN, and Patricia (William) Perkins of Waukesha, WI, and two granddaughters; Deanna (Cole) Lundell and Natalie Sell. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

No formal funeral services are taking place at this time.
