Marjorie Jane Smith, 94, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at Villa Marie Health & Rehabilitation in Hurley.

Marjorie was born on July 16, 1926, in Ironwood to John and Anna (Mayercak) Kozak. She attended Norrie Elementary and Luther L. Wright High School in Ironwood. She then moved to Detroit to work for the Ferry-Morse Seed Company. Marjorie moved to Los Angeles and worked at as an insurance agent, and then was employed by Rolwell Company until her retirement.

Marjorie enjoyed reading, dancing, decorating, and gambling.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd; sisters, Marian DiGiorgio and Amelia in her childhood; an infant brother; niece, Joye Sippola and her nephew, Ray DiGiorgio.

She is survived by her nieces, Maureen (Roy) Foryan of Hurley, her good friends and neighbors; Walter and Donna Richard, Niles and Inga Sanders, and their son Mike.

Due to Covid, a celebration of Marjorie's life will be held at a future date at St. Sebastian Church in Bessemer. Inurnment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Ironwood.
