Obituary

Marian H. Casari, 88, of Ironwood, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, in Ironwood.      The former Marian H. Garland was born March 10, 1922, in Ironwood, daughter of the late Bert M. and Mary A. (Radcliffe) Garland. She attended Ironwood public schools and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 1941.      Marian was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ironwood. She enjoyed her home and her flower garden, and loved to read. She especially enjoyed taking long walks and going to camp with her husband.      On July 19, 1942, she married Marino J. Casari at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Ironwood. He preceded her in death on Dec. 15, 2004.      Surviving are a son, James (Karen), Iron Mountain, and daughter, Maryann (Robert) Consie, Ironwood Township; grandchildren, Jeff (Young) Foley, Sierra Vista, Ariz., Jim Foley, Ludington, Jason Pallin, Ironwood, Carie (Kevin) Carlson, West Bend, Wis., and Timothy (Deanne) Casari, Arvada, Colo.; great-grandchildren, Karissa and Mary Foley, Ryan and Charles Foley, Owen Carlson, and Grace and Roen Casari; a sister, Dorothy Heczko, Ironwood; and numerous nieces and nephews.      Besides her parents and husband, Marian was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Lawrence C. Foley, Feb. 12, 1972; brothers, Joe, Bill and John Garland; and sisters, Fern Garland in infancy, Elizabeth Delorme, and Ruth Jarvi.      Out of respect for Marian's wishes, cremation has taken place.      A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Jan. 15, at 11 a.m., at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ironwood, with the Rev. Darryl J. Pepin, celebrant.      Rite of Committal will take place in the St. Joseph Family Room at the church, with luncheon to follow in the parish hall.      Spring inurnment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Ironwood.      Relatives and friends may call in the St. Joseph Family Room at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday.      Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Michigan Chapter, Upper Peninsula Region, 710 Chippewa Square, Suite 201, Marquette, Michigan 49855.      To view Marian's obituary online, sign the guestbook or express condolences, visit mckevittpatrickfuneralhome.com.      Arrangements are entrusted to McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Ironwood.
