MaDonna L. Connell, 63, of 4618 W Sand Hill
Rd., Town of Oma, Hurley, died Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, in her
home. The former MaDonna Davis was born Dec. 12,
1945, in Gary, Ind., the daughter of the late Louis and Taimi (Laine)
Davis. She graduated from Mercer High School in 1964,
then served stateside in the U.S. Army for three years during the Vietnam
War. Following her honorable discharge, she
returned to Mercer where she was employed in various occupations. She loved her
pets and her gardening, and was a former member of Northern Lakes American
Legion Post 424, Mercer-Manitowish Waters. She married Dwane Connell in 1967. They later
divorced. Surviving are two sons, Warren and Michael
Connell; two daughters, Lt. Col. Laura Dyckman and Kristine Connell; three
grandchildren; a brother, Bunker (Marie) Davis; and special friends, Leroy Huff,
Lori Penrose, Thelma Pemble and Inger Olson. In accordance with MaDonna's wishes, cremation
has taken place. A memorial service will be held Friday, Sept.
25, at 4 p.m., at the McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home, 305 N. Lowell St., in
Ironwood, with the Rev. Jean Rencontre officiating. A flag presentation ceremony will be accorded
by representatives of the Ironwood American Legion Post 5 Honor
