Madeleine M. (Kozup) Morichetti, 96, of Hurley, died peacefully Wednesday morning, Sept. 6, 2017, at Sky View Nursing Center in Hurley, with her loving family by her side.       She was born  Nov. 9, 1920, and raised in Mellen, and lived in Northern Wisconsin most of her life. She was a business entrepreneur that owned supper clubs and bars including the Rex Bar in Mercer which she ran with her husband, Ralph Capone. Upon his death, she returned to school at age 55 to earn her GED and attended Gogebic Community College, graduating as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the 1970s. She then worked at Southern Colony in Union Grove, serving a developmentally disabled population.      Madeleine was active throughout her life in numerous charitable and philanthropic organizations. She was involved in the Republican Party of Iron County for many years and was the Wisconsin Delegate to the Republican National Convention and attended the George H. W. Bush Presidential inauguration. She served on Governor Thompson's Council on Developmental Disabilities and on the Board of Directors of the Ironwood Theater. She established a nursing laboratory in her name at Gogebic Community College and an endowed nursing scholarship, also in her name, at Gogebic Community College; she believed in the power of education no matter what age.  She also established The Alaskan Community Foundation-Serafino Morichetti Fund to honor her husband's memory and support community EMS services. She was a member of the Range Tavern League, Lioness and Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars.       Madeleine is survived by two granddaughters, Lisa (Rupert) Workman, Box Elder, S.D. and Pam (Larry) Holten, Muskego, Wis.; four great-grandchildren, Dirk and Jordan Workman, and Samantha and Andrew Holten; and relatives and friends.      She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Serafino "Suds" Morichetti and her only daughter, Marlene "Pat" Welsh.       Per Madeleine's wishes, cremation has taken place.      Private family services will be held.      Arrangements have been entrusted to McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Ironwood.
