Lawrence J. DeMario, 90, of Green Bay, Wis., passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2017 in Green Bay. He was born in Ironwood on November 4, 1927, the youngest son of Louis and Angeline (Liberato) DeMario. Lawrence attended St. Ambrose grade and high school, graduating in 1947. He was drafted into the Army for the Korean War in 1951 and served until 1953. He reenlisted in 1953 until 1956. Lawrence loved music and had a beautiful singing voice. In his younger years he sang on the radio as Larry Day. He also sang for weddings and anniversaries of family and friends. He worked in retail sales at Montgomery Wards. He also worked for many years in the Housekeeping Department at Bellin Hospital where he is still fondly remembered by co-workers. Lawrence was a quiet, kind and gentle man who enjoyed celebrating with family. Give him a dish of pasta with meatballs and he was a happy man. He was preceded in death by four brothers and their spouses, Louis (Virginia) DeMario, Frank (Teresa) Demario, John (Esther) DeMario, Thomas (Regina) DeMario;two sisters and their spouses, Annette (John) Petrusha, Theresa (Roman) Conhartoski, and sister, Claude DeMario. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. The family would like to thank the Green Bay Rescue Squad, the doctors, nurses and medical team at Bellin Hospital, the nurses and care team at Manor Care West and Heartland Hospice for their compassionate and personal care. The funeral service will be held in the spring at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Ironwood.
