Laura T. Hanousek, 98 of Wausau, formerly of Ironwood, MI, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 in Wausau. She was born January 19, 1918 in Anvil Location, Michigan, the daughter of Frank and Mary Zadra. Laura had been employed in numerous area businesses and owned the former Laura's Bar and nutritional food store, both in Ironwood. She enjoyed playing golf at Eagle Bluff Golf Club, dancing and attending polka festivals. Laura was a long-time member of the Finnish-American Chorus. She is survived by her grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Frank Jr. and Kelly Hanousek of Ringle, WI; five great-grandchildren, Matthew, Timothy, Caitlin and Mitchell Hanousek, and Lindsey Antolik. She was preceded in death byher son, Frank Hanousek; daughter-in-law, Jane Honousek; her parents; four brothers, two sisters; and her long-time companion, Eugene Haavisto. In accordance to her wishes, no services will be held.
