Kirsten Myra "Sissy" Oie, 35, of E-7229 Sandene Road, Bessemer, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2008, at home. She was born Dec. 20, 1972, in Ironwood, daughter of Robert J. and Barbara E. (Pekuri) Oie. Sis attended Father Daniel Hall and graduated from Wakefield High School. She was employed for a time at Highline Corp. in Hurley. Sis was a kind and gentle person who was absolutely cherished by her family and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She loved her Lite Brite collection, music, assorted musical instruments, traveling and karaoke. She loved watching family home movies and various other videos. She especially loved watching her nephews' football games, whether in person or on video. She was also a Lions fan. She idolized her sister and best friend, Rachel. Sis, you are No 1! She was the inspiration and motivation in her parents' lives, and somehow they will go on. We have our memories of all the great times. Sis, thanks for riding shotgun. We love you. Surviving are her parents, Robert and Barbara Oie, of Bessemer; her sister, Rachel (Steve) Niemi, and nephews, Ivan and Alex Niemi, all of Champion; grandmother, Mary Oie, Ironwood; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, including uncles, Roger (Lisa) Pekuri, Ely, Mich., Bill (Gwen) Pekuri, Owatonna, Minn., and Gordon (Betsy) Pekuri, John D. Oie and James M. (Patti) Oie, all of Ironwood; and aunts, Cheryl K. (Michael) Wright, Bailey, Mich., Elaine L. (Robert) Nelson, Corroles, New Mexico, and Marybeth Oie, Ironwood. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Joyce "Mummu" and Ken "Papa" Pekuri, of Champion and formerly of Ironwood, and Clyde "Papa" Oie of Ironwood.
