Obituary

Kim ReeNee "Kimmy" Huotari (Anderson), age 68, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026, in Ironwood, Michigan, surrounded by her kids, after a graceful battle with cancer. Born on March 5, 1958, in Ironwood, Michigan, Kim spent her life surrounded by the beauty of her hometown and the love of her family. She married the love of her life, Bill, on July 4, 1981.

Kim was a devoted mother to her five children: William (Cathy) Huotari, Rich (Tina) Huotari, Crystal (Adam) Prisbe, Tara (Eric) Forsman, and Ashley Huotari. She was also a cherished grandmother to sixteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Kim is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Kenneth(Julie), Timothy(Sherri), Mark(Marianne), and PaulaJenn(Desi). Her family was the center of her world, and she found immense joy in spending time with them. Whether it was a simple gathering or a special occasion. Kimmy's warmth and love created lasting memories for all who were fortunate enough to share in those moments.

Kim was preceded in death by her loving husband, William(Bill)Huotari, who passed away in 2010. Kim also mourned the loss of her parents, Rose and Kenneth Anderson; her stepmother, Helen Anderson; her in-laws, Frederick Huotari and Edna Reini; as well as numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law and many other close family members. Despite these losses, she remained a source of strength and comfort for those around her.

Kim had a passion for nurturing life in all its forms. Her home was always filled with vibrant plants and flowers that reflected her nurturing spirit and love for nature. She took great pride in creating a welcoming space where beauty thrived both inside and out.

In addition to her family, Kim shared close bonds with three very special friends: Gina Pallin, Anna Anderson, and Julie Sertich, along with many other people who held her dear. Their friendships brought joy and companionship into her life, enriching her days with laughter and support.

Kim’s legacy is one of love, resilience, and an unwavering dedication to family. Her memory will live on through the lives she touched—her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

May Kim’s memory bring comfort to those who loved her deeply. There will be no service, and Kim was cremated per her wishes. There will be a celebration of life at a later date, and it will be announced.

We want to thank Hospice for their wonderful care and support.
