Kevin E. Vukovich, 51, of 46 Park Rd., Manitowish Waters, Wis., died unexpectedly Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, in his home. He was born Dec. 1, 1955, in Ironwood, son of Anna Mae (Breen) and the late Emil Vukovich, attended Ironwood Catholic Grade School, and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 1974. Kevin was employed as a salesman and assistant manager at Gogebic Auto in Ironwood and Bessemer until the dealership was sold in 1992, and owned and operated Kevin's Auto and Trailer Sales in Manitowish Waters up until the trime of his death. He was a member of St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Mercer and the Manitowish Waters Chapter of Ducks Unlimited. Always the consummate host, Kevin loved to cook and entertain and pontoon on the Manitowish chain, and also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Kevin loved life, loved his family, and loved his friends. He will be deeply missed. On Jan. 12, 1985, he was married to the former Rebecca "Becky" Gray in Hurley. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Kevin, and two daughters, Erin and Kimberly Vukovich, all of Manitowish Waters; his mother, Anna Mae Vukovich, Ironwood; a sister, Nancee (Rich) DaRonco, Ironwood; two brothers, Chuck (Cindy) and Brian (Diane), both of Ironwood Township; his father-and-mother-in-law, Don and Rosemarie Gray, Manitowish; brothers-and-sisters-in-law, James and Gina Gray, Davenport, Iowa, Jennifer and Lyle Mann, Lac du Flambeau, and Marilyn and George Pelc, Woodruff; an aunt, Joan Breen, Washington, D.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews and many, many best friends. At the family's request, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday, Oct. 11, at 11 a.m., at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ironwood, with the Rev. Darryl J. Pepin, celebrant. Luncheon will follow at the Rustic Roadhouse on Highway 51 in Manitowish Waters. Friends may call in the St. Joseph Family Room at the church beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday.
