Kathy J. Rowe, 60, of 128 Ohio
Ave., Montreal, died unexpectedly Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, at home. The former Kathy Bergman was born Feb. 4,
1949, in Washburn, daughter of the late Ronald and Evelyn (Johnson) Bergman,
attended school there, and graduated from Washburn High School in 1967. She
then attended St. Luke's School of Nursing in Duluth, Minn., where she received
her certification as a registered nurse, and worked briefly at the Washburn
Hospital. She was married to Donn A. Rowe on Sept. 25,
1971, at the former Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Washburn. They moved to Montreal
in 1979, where they raised their family. Kathy was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in
Ironwood. She enjoyed cooking and flower gardening. Surviving are her husband, Donn, of 38 years;
a son, Christopher (Ali), U.S.A.F., England; two daughters, Jody (Mike)
Strecker, Manson, Wash., and Lindsey Rowe, at home; three grandchildren, Joseph,
Nicholas and Vincent Strecker; a brother, Randy (Janet) Bergman, Washburn; a
brother-in-law, Dean Rowe, Hayward; two sisters-in-law, Sharon Tervo, Hudson,
and Janell Rowe, Rhinelander; numerous nieces and nephews; and many thoughtful
and generous friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 30,
at 11 a.m., at Zion Lutheran Church, 100 W. Midland Ave., in Ironwood, with the
Rev. Francis Strong officiating. Committal and interment will follow in the
Hurley Cemetery. A luncheon reception will be held at the Iron
Nugget in downtown Hurley immediately upon return from the
cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church
one hour prior to the service on Friday. Pallbearers will be Christopher Rowe, Mike
Strecker, Dean Rowe and Dann Tervo. Memorial contributions may be made to the
