Kathleen M. DeRosier, 73, of 117 E. Michigan Ave., Ironwood, died Wednesday evening, Aug. 13, 2008, in Ironwood, surrounded by her family. The former Kathleen O'Leary was born May 13, 1935, in Ironwood, daughter of the late Philip and Hulda (Noren) O'Leary, attended St. Ambrose Grade School, and graduated from St. Ambrose High School with the Class of 1953. She then attended Gogebic Community College for one year. Kathleen was employed as a sales clerk at Sears-Roebuck & Co., Montgomery-Ward and the Coast to Coast Store, all in downtown Ironwood, for many years. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ironwood, past board member and officer of the St. Ambrose-Ironwood Catholic Alumni and Friends Association, and a member and past officer of the Auxiliary to Ironwood American Legion Post 5. She bowled in Range area leagues in her younger years and was an avid reader. She enjoyed visiting with friends and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. On July 10, 1954, she was married to Philip J. DeRosier at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Ironwood by the late Rev. Conrad Dishaw. Philip survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Suzanne (Jerry) Nezworski and Kathleen A. DeRosier, both of Ironwood; two sons, Robert (Roberta), Coon Rapids, Minn. and Thomas (Monika), Yorktown, VA; five grandchildren, Brad (Robin) Nezworski, Ironwood, Nicole Nezworski, Brule, Wis., Casey DeRosier, Coon Rapids, Rebecca DeRosier, Yorktown, and Christopher DeRosier, Seaford, VA; three great-grandchildren, Austin, Ty and Haley Nezworski; two brothers, Philip "Jack" O'Leary, Las Vegas, Nev. and James (Mildred) O'Leary, Cornucopia, Wis.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremy Nezworski, on Oct. 13, 1980. In accordance with Kathleen's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Aug. 16, at 11 a.m., at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ironwood, with the Rev. Michael J. Jacobus, celebrant. Luncheon will follow in the parish hall. Rite of Committal and private family inurnment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Ironwood. Relatives and friends may call in the St. Joseph Family Room at the church beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Our Lady of Peace Adopt-A-Student Program.
