As a young woman, she worked as a waitress in Ironwood. She enjoyed cooking, canning, knitting and gardening. She was an excellent cook and was well known for her pasties, special soups and specialty breads. You may have been a lucky recipient of her potica bread or walnut and poppy seed rolls at Christmas. Her sharp wit and great sense of humor will never be forgotten.      Survivors include her son, John (Margaret), Ontonagon; grandchildren, Ann (Doug) Picotte, Milwaukee, James LaSota, Shoreview, Minn., and Amy (Mike) Bigelow, Iron River; great-grandchildren, Thomas Picotte, Brooke and Paige LaSota, and Garrett and Kyle Bigelow; brother, John (Pat) Bunjevac, Ironwood; sisters, Ann Clark, Greer, So. Carolina, Mary Slade, Aitkin, Minn., and Rose White and Julie Brew, both of Minneapolis; sister-in-law, Dorothy Bunjevac, Ironwood; and many nieces and nephews.      In addition to her parents and husband, John, of 72 years, she was preceded in death by brothers, Nick and Steve Bunjevac and an infant brother; and sisters, Regina Tiziani, Amelia "Millie" Dural and Helen Ledvina.        Katie will be remembered for her many acts of kindness including, along with other family members, caring for her parents, her love for her family, and helping to provide care for her husband.      Out of respect for her wishes, cremation has taken place.      A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Jan. 15, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation in the St. Joseph Family Room at 10:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ironwood, with the Rev. Robb Jurkovich, celebrant.      Luncheon will follow in the parish hall.      Rite of Committal and interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Ironwood, in the spring.      Honorary pallbearers will be Katie's grandchildren, Ann Picotte, James LaSota and Amy Bigelow; and her great-grandchildren, Thomas Picotte, Brooke and Paige LaSota, and Garrett and Kyle Bigelow.      Condolences may be given to Katie's family online at mckevittpatrickfuneralhome.com.      Arrangements have been entrusted to McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Ironwood.
