Karen E. Wedenoja, 81, of Ironwood, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at Westgate Nursing, Rehabilitation, and Assisted Living Community Home in Ironwood. Karen was born on August 15, 1940 in Wakefield, Michigan, the daughter of James and Eloise (Hopkins) Minier.. She was united in marriage with Melvin C. Wedenoja on November 2, 1968 in Ironwood. Together with her husband, they owned and operated Mel's Bar in Ironwood Township. Karen was also a member of the Black River Harbor Boat Club and enjoyed bowling. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Karen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melvin in 2003, sisters, Onettia, Claudia, and Jeanette; and brothers.
