Judith Ann
Haeger
September 16, 1947 – June 18, 2025
Judith Ann "Judy" Haeger - passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 18th, 2025.
She was born on September 16th, 1947 to Bonita and William Nemacheck and grew up alongside siblings Pat, Sue and Tom Nemacheck. She was a graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School in Detroit, MI, and still counts some of those classmates as her closest friends.
Judy married Roy Haeger in 1967, and they briefly lived in Southfield, MI until moving to beautiful Montreal, WI in 1970. They had three boys, Roy, Todd (Diane) and Mark, who to this day live very close-by in Montreal. They met many friends through their involvement in the local CB club, and hosted many gatherings through the years. Most of all, their home was full of love.
Judy was a homemaker, then co-owner/operator of Haeger's Tools and then Haeger's Tool Box Supply in Hurley until it closed in the early 90's. She then worked for many years as a licensed insurance agent, retiring from her job at Range Insurance, where she worked for her beloved nephew Bill Hamlin. She new the insurance business inside and out, and enjoyed working with people, especially her friends and neighbors.
After she retired she was very involved in her church (St. Mary's) and her community, where she sat on the Parish Council and the Iron County Food Pantry board, respectively, as well as donating her time in other ways. She adored her two grandchildren, Alexis and Aria, and watched and helped guide them as they grew up to be fine young ladies. She cherished visits with her dear friend, Jennifer Mork and her family. She felt very fortunate to have her three boys living so close, and enjoyed the many visits from her grand-dog Dexter.
In later years she spent time traveling with her significant other, Eric Ericson. They travelled out west and around the country via motorcycle, and they enjoyed seeing those sites and spending time together. She and Eric spent years together enjoying retired life in the Northwoods.
Judy was a caring mother, grandmother, aunt and neighbor. Everyone knew her as a kind, generous and caring person. Her family and friends will miss her terribly, but appreciate every minute that they had being around her.
Judy was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband Roy, and siblings Pat and Sue.
Judy is survived by her three sons, Roy, Todd (Diane) and Mark (Natalie), Mark's two daughters with Krystal Sibley, Alexis Mae and Aria Rae, brother Tom Nemacheck and sister-in-law Jean Nemacheck and significant other Eric Erickson.
Visitation of Judy will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hurley. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the church at 11 a.m. with Fr. Raj Sunkura officiating. Burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Hurley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Iron County Food Pantry, P.O. Box 7, Montreal, WI 54550 or Dorothy's Treasure Room.
