John E. Pinzl, 82, of Mercer, died
peacefully Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at home, surrounded by his family, following a
lengthy illness.
He was born Nov. 7, 1930, in Milwaukee, son of
the late John and Elsa (Renz) Pinzl, and graduated from Wauwatosa East High
School in Wauwatosa in 1948. He was employed as a lithographer in Wauwatosa and
for 33 years at the MCP Co. in Milwaukee, retiring in 1990 and moving to Mercer
in 1998. While living in Wauwatosa, he was instrumental in forming Junior League
Baseball and was actively involved in coaching.
John was a member of the Mercer
Tavern Horseshoe League. He enjoyed hunting, the beauty of the great Northwoods,
and the beautiful view of Fox Lake from his home. He especially enjoyed spending
time with and telling stories to his grandchildren.
John was married to the former Marie V.
Gillich of Hartford on May 25, 1957, in Hartford.
Surviving are his beloved wife and best
friend, Marie; three children, John J., DDS, S.C. (Dr. Christine, DDS) and Julie
(Steve) Hoffmeister, both of Mercer, and Michael (Sarah), Cedarburg; nine
grandchildren, John, Joseph, Lauren, Emily and Nicholas Pinzl, Kyle and Quentin
Hoffmeister, and Delaney and Lily Pinzl; and other relatives and
friends.
Out of respect for his wishes, cremation has taken place.
A celebration of John's life will be held at a later date.
