John T. Lewinski, 64, of
Waukesha, Wis., and a native of Ironwood, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Sept. 4,
2013, in Ironwood. He was born June 17, 1949, in Ironwood, son of
Patricia (Erm) and the late John Lewinski Sr. He attended St. Ambrose Grade
School, and graduated from St. Ambrose High School in 1967. He then attended
Gogebic Community College for two years and received a Bachelor of Science
degree in business management from Northern Michigan University in Marquette in
1971. J ohn was
employed as a cost accountant with Evinrude Motors in Milwaukee and Mercury
Marine in Fond du Lac, Wis. for several years, retiring as an accountant with
the federal government in Milwaukee in 2011. He was a member of St. William's Catholic
Church in Waukesha, and was just beginning to enjoy his retirement with his
beloved wife and four legged buddy Virgil. He loved being outdoors, fishing,
watching football, doing crossword puzzles, reading, and cruising in his ' 68
Caddy. He was also an avid Vikings fan. He especially enjoyed time with his
family, anything from Sunday dinners to trips to Disney with the girls in his
life. John will truly be missed. We were all blessed to have such a wonderful
man in our life. John married his best friend and soul mate,
Patricia Lipske, on Jan. 22, 1972, at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Iron
Belt, Wis. After 41 years of marriage their love was strong. She
survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Alison
Lewinski, Milwaukee, and Jill Lewinski, Waukesha, and the love of his life,
his two granddaughters, Haley and Chloe; his mother, Patricia Lewinski, Grafton,
Wis.; two sisters, Lisa (Matthew) Wegner, Cedarburg, Wis., and Michelle Dusseau,
Cape Coral, Fla.; an uncle, John (Mary) Erm, Marquette; two aunts, Madelyn
Sobolewski, Grantsburg, Wis., and Evelyn Lewinski, Ironwood; nine nieces and
nephews, Ken (Kim) Lipske, Kevin (Nicole) Lipske, Sean Boho, Tate (Kim) Boho,
Will and Debbie Lipske, Nathan and Rachel Wegner, and Nikki Nunnink;
brothers-and-sisters-in-law, David (Shirley) Lipske, Sussex, Wis., Ted (Cindy)
Lipske, Fond du Lac, and Darlene Boho, Menomonee Falls, Wis.; and numerous
cousins. Besides his father, John was preceded in death
by his brother-in-law, Terry Boho; and nephew, Rod Boho. Out of respect for his wishes, cremation has
taken place. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated
Friday, Sept. 13, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation in the St. Joseph Family
Room at 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 108 S. Marquette St., in
Ironwood, with the Rev. Robb Jurkovich, celebrant. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in
Calvary Cemetery, Upson, Wis. Luncheon will be served at Joany's Sidekicks
