Jason "JJ" Lamerand, 45 of Iron Belt, Wisc., passed away on December 28, 2017 in Duluth, Minn. He was born July 10, 1972 in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of Willard and Deanna Lamerand. JJ will forever be remembered as our greatest gift and light of our lives. A forever child that brought smiles and laughs to all who knew him. We will not be the same without our precious boy. JJ could always be found carrying a Hank tape, deck of cards, and one of his many teddy bears. He loved his family and friends and was excited everyday to go to work at Highline which he did for over 20 years. JJ especially enjoyed the Holiday''s. We had so much fun together during family gatherings. He was always in charge of napkins and put them on everyone''s head and laughed about it everytime. JJ picked flowers for whatever lady was around during the summer months. We always had plenty of wilted dandelions, daisies and buttercups around the house. He was the ultimate icebreaker and always made sure everyone was introduced and shook hands. We hope that when you think of old "Fur Face" he brings a smile and happy memory to mind. He is survived by his parents; his sisters, Andrea (Jeremiah) Manzer of Iron Belt, Corrin (Charlie) of Ashland; brothers, Darryl (Tiffany) of Ironwood, Darryn (Teresa) of Kimball; nieces and nephews, Ruger, Reilly, Haydn, Ezra, Laila, Jack, Finn, Elloyis, Senja, Madeline, Brody, Wiloh, Lucy, and soon to be Alifair. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at St. Mary''s Catholic Church in Hurley, Wisc. Father Frank Kordek, OFM will be the celebrant. JJ''s family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior to the mass at the church on Saturday. Luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall.
