Jimmy Ray Dees, age 64, of Ironwood, formerly of Florida, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at his home. He was born March 3, 1953 in Perry, Florida, the son of the late Ernest and Rosabelle (Snyder) Dees. Jimmy attended schools in Jupiter, Florida graduating from Jupiter High School with the Class of 1972. On December 14, 1982 he married Diane M. Ritchards in Las Vegas, Nevada. He worked as an independent truck driver for many years for various companies. Jimmy enjoyed fishing and boating. He especially enjoyed his time with his grandson, Neil, helping him with his snow-cross racing. Jimmy was a true family man who took great pride in his wife, children and grandson. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Diane; his son, Nathan (Maggie Aschbrock) Dees of Hurley; his daughters, Nicole Dees of Stevens Point, WI, Leah Dees of Ironwood, and Tuesday Dees-Martin of Port St. Lucie, FL; his grandson, Neil Dees; his brother, Daniel; two sisters, Barbara Ann Meadows and Nelda McDonald; his mother-in-law, Marie Stenstrom; sister-in-law, Kathryn Ritchards,Terry Thomas, and Tammy Mark; father-in-law, Jim Ritchards; mother-in-law, Ann Ritchards; his special friends,Dale Olson and Micky Rooni; and his furry grandchildren, Mort, Benelli, KG, Yasha, Tilly, Marley, and Matrix. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tony Dees; and his canine friend, Lacie. In honor of Jimmy''s wishes, a private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
