J.F. Speck, 89, of Ironwood, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at his home. He was born October 9, 1927 in Montrose, Colorado the son of the late McHenry "Mack" and Rachel (Page) Speck. J.F. attended schools in Colorado. He was a US Army Veteran serving during WWII. On June 8, 1948 he married Peggy Ann Davis. She preceded him in death in October of 1992. J.F. was the Foreman at Simpson Electric & Molding Company in Lac du Flambeau for over 20 years. Following his retirement he was a self-employed, small engine repairman. J.F. enjoyed fishing, traveling out west, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his three sons, Roy Speck of Marenisco, MI,Tom Speck of Oma, WI, and Gary (Dawn) Speck of Gile, WI; his grandchildren, Sue Speck of Beloit, WI, Tom Speck Jr. of Oma, WI, Sally Speck of Bessemer, and Stacey Smith of Ironwood; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Steven, Kourtney, Dusstin, Stephanie, Briar, and Ashley; two great-great-grandchildren, Angelina and Warren; and his sister-in-law: Miriam Speck of Oregon. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers, Walter, Raymond and Carl; four sisters, Lois, Clarrie, Ruth, and Leah in infancy; and his great-grandson, Tony. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, February 27, 2017 at the Cornerstone Church in Ramsay, MI. Pastor Roy Speck and Pastor Todd Winkler will officiate. J.F.''s family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Military Rites will be accorded by American Legion Post 5 Honor Guard of Ironwood. A celebration of J.F.''s life and gathering of friends will follow the service at the church. Spring Interment will be in the Sunset Acres Cemetery in Ironwood Township.
