Jeanette L. Barbacovi, 43, of West Francis Street, Ironwood, passed away unexpectedly due to medical complications on Wednesday, January 20, 2016, in Ironwood. She was born January 30, 1972 in Skokie, Illinois, daughter of John W. and Judith (Barringer) Barbacovi Sr. Jeannette attended Bessemer schools and graduated from the A.D. Johnston High School in Bessemer with the class of 1990. She also attended Gogebic Community College in Ironwood, where she received an Associate Degree in Business in 2002. Jeanette was employed at various businesses in the area which included Dr. Stanley Gresham, the Ojibway Correctional Facility, the Grand View Hospital and Grand View Clinic. When Jeanette was young she enjoyed 3 wheeling and being at the hunting camp and spending time with friends and family. She loved animals. Jeanette was obsessed with scary movies, especially Michael Myers and the Halloween series. She was a member of a Halloween online club and her favorite colors were orange and black. She is survived by her daughter Payton Rye of Ironwood, her father and step-mother, John W. (Sandy) Barbacovi Sr. of Ironwood and her mother Judith Barbacovi of Bessemer, a brother, John W. (Rose) Barbacovi Jr. of Ironwood and step-brothers, Eric Fitting of Ironwood and Ross(Margaret) Fitting of Reston, Virginia. Also surviving is her paternal grandfather, William F. Barbacovi of Bessemer, nephews, Gage and Kyler Barbacovi, niece, Brooklyn Barbacovi, a special cousin Stephanie Dayton and many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Marie Barbacovi, maternal grandparents, Syndney and Mary Barringer and a special cousin Billy Barbacovi. A Memorial Service will be held at the Frick-Zielinski Funeral Home, 304 South Sophie Street, Bessemer, on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 11 a.m. Rev. Jean B. Rencontre will officiate. Jeanette's family will receive relatives and friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home on Tuesday. A luncheon will follow at noon at the Ironwood Township Hall.
