Jason was born on July 13, 1973, to Joel Sr. and Gloria (Plochocki) Seppanen in Ironwood. Jay loved playing guitar and music; he could hear any song and play it. Jay played in the Hammer Down Hard band, co-wrote and played on the Awaken Album produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Skidd Mills, and he co-wrote Nightshade with Lonnie Hammer. He enjoyed cooking and was willing to help anyone. Jay was a baby whisperer and enjoyed hanging out with his nieces, nephews, and his friends’ kids. Jay had faith in Jesus and was proud of it.
Jay is survived by his mom, Gloria Austin; sister, Jean (Marcus) Santini; two brothers, Joel Jr. and Jon Seppanen; sister-in-law, Heather Seppanen; and his nieces and nephews, Nolan, Aubrie, Judah, Dillion, and Payton. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father.
A gathering will take place on Friday, July 24th, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home in Ironwood.
