Janet M. "Boogie" Moyer, 39, of 220 Silver St., Hurley, died unexpectedly Sunday morning, Dec. 7, 2008, in her home. The former Janet Jakeway was born May 29, 1969, in Wayne, Mich., daughter of Donald and Inge (Montag) Jakeway, attended Merriman Elementary School in Romulus, Mich., and graduated from Romulus High School in 1987. She worked at Fashion Wall Products in Warren, Mich. for several years, was employed in factory work in Belleville, Mich., and worked at FCI Plastics Factory in Westland, Mich. for ten years, moving to Ironwood, Mich. in June 2001. She then was employed at Ironwood Plastics for several years and at Copp's Foods in Hurley as a check out clerk for two years. Janet enjoyed sun-bathing, walking in the woods and going to Lake Superior at Little Girl's Point. She was a good daughter who took good care of her parents. She was very much loved and will be deeply missed. On Aug. 31, 1987, Janet married Tom Moyer in Romulus. He survives in Wild Rose, No. Dakota. Also surviving are her son, Josh, and her parents, Donald and Inge Jakeway, all of Ironwood; a brother, Robert (Vicki) Jakeway, Brooklyn, Mich.; three sisters, Brenda Jakeway, Ironwood, Jessica (Roger) Hurd, Allen Park, Mich., and Ursula (Hubertus) Kromm, Grafenhausen, Germany; aunt and uncle, Jennifer and Randy Dahlbacka, Bessemer Township, Mich.; nieces and nephews, Amanda and Kyle Jakeway, Eric Cencich, and Jay Jakeway (Kristin Murphy); great-niece, Faith Hurd, and great-nephew, Kyler Murphy; a special friend, Claudia Cox, South Carey, Hurley; and her best friend and companion, her toy poodle, "Mickey". In accordance with Janet's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
