James Michael Griffin, age 70, died atAspirusWausau Hospitalon December 5, 2017. He was born November 3, 1947 in Ballinger, Texas, the son of the late James and Mary (Hall) Griffin. Helived in various places,but called SanAngelo, Texasand Ironwood, Mich, his home. Jamesworked as a mail carrier for the US Postal Service for 28 yearsuntil his retirement in 2005. He also worked as a security guard. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War where he was stationed on the USS Mahon. He was a dedicated husband and father. Survivors include his wife, Judy; daughters, Linda and Crystal; son, Bill; his brothers, Tom and Bill; and 4grandchildren (two of which reside in Texas); and 2 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra. Services will be heldat 2 pm on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at the Ketola-Burla Funeral Home in Ironwood. Rev. Jean Rencontre will officiate. James'' family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday. Burial will be in the Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Ontonagon.
