James "Jim" "Logger" L. Bock, 82, a lifelong resident of Oma, Wisconsin, passed away at his home on Monday, December 23, 2024.
Jim was born on July 4, 1942, in Ironwood, Michigan to Herbert and Margaret (Coey) Bock. He attended Oma Elementary School and graduated from J.E. Murphy High School in Hurley. Jim received his nickname "Logger" through his career in the logging industry. He began with over-the-road trucking, then his logging business, Niemi's, and retired from Lupino's. He was united in marriage with Carmen Colasacco on April 1, 1967, in Oma.
A passion of Jim's for over 20 years was coordinating and coaching Little League baseball. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time at the deer camp.
He is survived by his wife, Carmen; son, Jim (Robin) Bock of Ironwood; daughter, Jean (John) Bock of Hurley; two sisters, Linda Bock and Gail DeFerro; and two grandchildren, Breden and Kylee. Jim is further survived by nieces and nephews and special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Herbert.
A celebration of Jim's life will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the Oma Town Hall (4514 W Town Hall Rd, Hurley, WI 54534) from 11 a.m. to the time of the service at noon, with military honors provided by the Hurley American Legion and V.F.W.
