Obituary

Irma G. "Dolly" Barron, 90, of Ironwood, went to sleep peacefully in Jesus Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012, in Wakefield, surrounded by her loving family, following a brief illness.      The former Irma Peterson was born July 19, 1921, in Winegar, Wis., daughter of the late Arthur and Flora (Brewer) Peterson Conway, attended the Winegar School through the ninth grade, and Marenisco High School.      She was married to Archie W. Barron on Dec. 19, 1937, in Iron Mountain. Together, they raised their family. Archie preceded her in death on Oct. 27, 1972.      Dolly worked as a cook/waitress at Joe's Pasty Shop in downtown Ironwood for 11 years, retiring due to ill health in 1973.      She was a member of Christ Community Church of Seventh Day Adventists in Bessemer. She was an avid bird watcher, and enjoyed flower gardening, cooking and crocheting. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and many friends.      Surviving are three sons, Dennis (May), Nome, Alaska, Albert (Bessie) Anchorage, Alaska, and Archie "Art" (Stephany), Brimley; two daughters, Glenda Aijala, Ely, Minn., and Ethelyne (Harry) McClellan, Vestaburg; two step-daughters, Caroline Hickman, Denver, Colo., and Lois Vasenius, Minneapolis; 33 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, William Conway, Silver Bay, Minn., Gary Conway, Palestine, Ark., and Ralph Conway, Niles; a sister, Jolene Olson, Weippe, Idaho; many special nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.      Besides her parents and husband, Dolly was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Zachary Scott Matschiner, in 2008; three sons-in-law, Don Aijala, Dwight Hickman and Harold Vasenius; a brother, Victor Conway; and three sisters, Virginia Tuttle, Grace Negretti and Marion Schmidlin.      Out of respect for her wishes, cremation has taken place.      There will be no visitation.      A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 10, at 11 a.m., at Christ Community Church of Seventh Day Adventists, 507 Cinnabar St., in Bessemer, with Pastor Gordon Frase officiating.      Private committal and inurnment will follow in the Presque Isle Cemetery, Presque Isle, Wis.      In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to 3 ABN, P.O.
