Irene H. Strand, 90, of Bessemer, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 in Ironwood. She was born September 24, 1925 in Bessemer, the daughter of the late Bartek and Josephine (Todryk) Pucilowski. Irene attended Bessemer Schools, graduating from the A.D. Johnston High School with the Class of 1944. On July 13, 1946 she married Jack Edward Strand. He preceded her in death on May 30, 1994. Irene was a very devoted member of the St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Bessemer. She is survived by her children, Doris Beckish of Mustang, OK, Bonnie Tregembo of Ironwood, Paul (Janine) Strand of Ironwood, Peggy Strand of South Milwaukee, WI, Patti (Brian) Thompson of Minneapolis, MN, and David (Cheryl) Strand of Hurley, WI; her grandchildren, Suzie, Ronnie, Chris, Billy, Shelly, Brad, Justin, Tyler, Caitlin, and Jack; her great-grandchildren; Rachel, Nicholas, Tara (Ross), Michael, Markie, Joslyn, Jacob, Abigail, Olivia, Henry, and Sawyer; and one great-grandson, Silas. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Jack in 2011; and her brothers, Anton, Henry, Edmond and Donald Pucilowski; and her sisters, Wanda Udell, Veronica Minkin, Agnes Maki, and Evelyn Fabbri. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Bessemer. Fr. Dominic Agyapong will be the celebrant. Irene''s family will receive relatives and friends at 10 a.m. on Saturday until the hour of service. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery.
