Irene J. Boesler Eskola, 79, of Saxon, Wis., and a former Wautoma resident, died Monday, April 16, 2007, in Hurley, Wis. The former Irene Sillanpaa was born May 5, 1927, in Ironwood Township, Michigan, daughter of the late Ivar and Saima (Johnson) Sillanpaa. She married Clifford Boesler on Sept. 12, 1946, in Wautoma. He preceded her in death on Aug. 30, 1973. She then married Henry B. Eskola on Oct. 4, 1986, in Kimball, Township, Hurley. He survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Sherry Boesler, Wautoma, and Sally (Bart) Domin, Ironwood Township; a step-daughter, Sarah (Robert) Soderman, Ironwood; two step-sons, Richard (Carleen) Eskola, Rusk, Texas, and Gary (Rose) Eskola, Kimball Township; six step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandson; a sister, Elsie (Tony) Kollentz, Greenfield, Wis.; a sister-in-law, Pearl Woodworth, Wautoma; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Dorothy McNamee, Wautoma. Besides her parents and first husband, Irene was preceded in death by brothers, Reino and Arnie Sillanpaa, and sisters, Martha (Conrad) Mattson and Gertie Sillanpaa. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 20, at 11 a.m., at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 111 So. Curry St., in Ironwood, with the Rev. Christian Muellerleile officiating. Cremation will follow.
