Helen L. Behrendt IRONWOOD, Mich. Helen Lorraine Behrendt, 80, of Ironwood, died Wednesday, November 21, 2007 in Hurley, Wisc. She was born April 11, 1927 in Ashland, daughter of the late Jacob A. Stenman and Fannie Mae Mattson. Helen attended Marengo School, Roosevelt School in Ironwood Township and graduated from L.L. Wright in 1945 On May 24, 1947, she was married to Charles H. Behrendt at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Ironwood, by the late Rev. Arthur Hellert. Charles survives. Helen liked to play bingo, she had a passion for the Atlanta Braves and she was a member of the Ironwood Ladies Cribbage League. Helen is survived by her husband Charles of Ironwood, a son Charles D. (Suzanne) of Ironwood, a son-in-law Douglas Brunell of Hurley, a grandson Deane Behrendt, a great-grandson Kristopher Behrendt, both of Bessemer, and a very dear and close friend Hilda Ahonen. Preceding Helen in death is a daughter Bonnie, who passed away on February 24, 2000. Funeral Services for Helen will be on Monday, November 26, 2007 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Ramsey, Mich., with the Rev. Edward Wright, presider. A Luncheon will follow in the parish hall. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Ironwood. Visitation will be at the church from 10 AM until time service on Monday.
