Harland J. Buckallew, 64, of 515 E. Vaughn St., Ironwood, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Aug. 26, 2011, in Ironwood, with his loving family by his side.     Harland was born June 14, 1947, in Ironwood, son of the late Thomas and Jolene (Layman) Buckallew, attended Ironwood schools, and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 1965.     He was employed as a swimming instructor by the City of Ironwood at the Memorial Building pool, and was a self-employed roofer and painter in the area until retiring due to ill health.     He was a member of the Havenwood Baptist Church in Hurley. An avid golfer, he loved golfing with his friends at Indianhead and Mellen. He was also an excellent cribbage player and enjoyed watching Westerns.     Harland was much loved by his family and many friends. He had a great sense of humor, was fun to be around, and always had a joke to tell. He loved people and his Lord. The joy of his life was his daughter Kristen.     Surviving are a son, Sean (Rhonda) Buckallew, Weston, Wis.; two daughters, Kim (Tate) Boho, Colgate, Wis., and Kristen Buckallew, Hurley; five grandchildren, Bryce, Brent and Ian Boho, Colgate, and Rachel and Ryan Buckallew, Weston; two sisters, Sally (Mike) Niziol and Lee Silvonen, both of Ironwood; a cousin, Donnie Layman, Ironwood; and numerous nieces and nephews.     Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Johnnie Buckallew, in 2009.     As per Harland's wishes, cremation has taken place.     A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 30, at 11 a.m., at Havenwood Baptist Church in Hurley, with Pastor Steve Newman officiating.     Luncheon will follow at Pioneer Park in Ironwood.     Friends may call at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday.     To view Harland's obituary online, sign his guestbook or express condolences, visit mckevittpatrickfuneralhome.com.     Arrangements are entrusted to McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home, Inc., Ironwood.
