Gloria M. Brackett of Pence, Wis. passed away on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center in Ashland, surrounded by her family. Gloria was born on April 1, 1930 in Iron Belt, Wis. to the late Michael and Angeline (Arbeck) Sullivan. Her mother was the first girl born in Iron Belt. Gloria was the last remaining of fifteen children. On May 20, 1950, she married Earl Brackett at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Iron Belt. She worked at Grand View Hospital for several years then graduated from the Gogebic Community College LPN program in 1978. As an LPN, she worked for various area health agencies. Gloria is survived by her husband, Earl; two daughters and sons-in-law, Beth and Jim McKeague and Jane Brackett and Ed Brady ; one son and daughter-in-law, John and Debbie Brackett; four grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements are being made with McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home Inc. of Ironwood for a private family service and burial at Gloria's request.
